Add-On Game Project – Rules & Guidelines
Welcome to the Add-On Game Project, a collaborative Unreal Engine experience where developers from the community take turns adding one feature at a time to a shared project.
This is a creative sandbox for both beginners and experienced devs, focused on fun, learning, and teamwork — not competition.
Project Overview

One person at a time receives the project.

Each participant gets 48 hours to add one feature or mechanic.

After your turn, you zip the project and send it directly to me.

The next developer continues from where you left off.
The base project is built in Unreal Engine 5.6, using the Combat Variant. The game type is Top Down but the theme and additions are open.
Contribution Guidelines
Allowed:

Adding one mechanic or feature per turn

Modular and clearly named Blueprints (e.g.,
BP_Fireball_John) -
Commenting your Blueprints and logic

Adding your name to the changelog

Using only free or original assets
Not Allowed:

Deleting another participant’s work
-
Breaking core systems or overwriting existing mechanics

Using paid Marketplace assets, third-party plugins, or external dependencies

Adding content that crashes the game or editor

Community Standards
This is a community-driven project intended to be inclusive, respectful, and fun for all participants.
Prohibited Content:

Racism, hate speech, or Nazi propaganda

Sexism, harassment, or discrimination

NSFW or sexually explicit content
-
Intentionally offensive, trolling, or harmful submissions

Political or religious messaging

Changelog Instructions
All contributors must update the Data Table-based changelog after their turn.
Please include the following in your entry:

Version ID (e.g., v03)

Contributor Name

Date

Change Summary (multiline entries supported)
This helps future contributors understand what’s been added and where to find it.
Project Submission Process
- Receive the zipped project from the organizer.
- Unzip and confirm it opens in Unreal Engine 5.6.
- Add your mechanic or feature.
- Test your addition to ensure it doesn’t break anything.
- Add your entry to the changelog.
- Zip the entire project folder using this format:
AddonGame_v04_YourName.zip - Send the file directly to the organizer for validation.
